Singing
for business
Put some SPARKLE
into your business conference.
Make your key messages
UNFORGETTABLE
The SINGVOCAL warm
up session.
This is the ideal way to start the conference day for delegates may have
arrived the previous evening or have travelled that morning. A warm up
session will make sure that they are receptive and ready to take on the
key messages of the conference. The warm up session will include some
basic physical moves to increase the heart rate and stimulate blood flow
to the brain. Breathing exercises will assist the delegates that are making
a presentation. Listening exercises will ensure that delegates are ready
to receive the conference information. Examples: Sessions such as ZIP
ZAP ZOP engage the brain and encourage team work by establishing verbal
communication combined with eye-contact and physical presence. 123456
SWITCH is a fun ice-breaker that can be either sung or spoken. This exercise
helps to warm up the voice and has some simple actions to provide a physical
element to the session. The warm up session can be tailored to run between
20~40 minutes subject to conference timing.
After lunch lift.
The first session in the afternoon often referred to as the graveyard
slot as delegates may start to feel sleepy as they sit in a warm room
digesting their lunch. Singing a 'round' will lift the audience into a
receptive mood. Simple rounds such as London's Burning can have the words
modified to connect to key messages from the morning session. Adding some
relevant and easy actions will raise the attention level and prepare the
audience for the afternoon sessions. The after-lunch lift should take
10~15 minutes.
Reinforcing the
message.
Song words are often memorised far easier than other forms of verbal communication.
The combination of music and words can activate the long-term memory receptors
in the brain sometimes making even new songs sound like memorable classics.
In this session we divide the delegates into small groups and provide
them with a choice of professionally recoded backing tracks for well known
songs. The task is for delegates to re-word the song to carry the selected
message from the conference, this could be based on product features,
special offer details or any other message that needs to be give the X-factor
treatment!. At SINGVOCAL we have experience with re-wording songs and
can help the groups with phrasing and scan. At the end of the session
the groups perform the songs to each other with prizes awarded for the
best songs. The song rewording session should take around 1 hour.
The Evening Event.
If the conference includes an evening event then SINGVOCAL can also provide
the entertainment for this. Depending on the numbers involved and the
intended style of the event then SINGVOCAL can prove a wide variety of
entertainment such as the Barbershop Quartet CHORDINATION or the retro
singing duo LAZYDAYZ.
